Play a Traditional Sport for Charity

The Human Rights Campaign is excited to announce the First Inaugural Women’s 3×3 Basketball Tournament taking place July 25, 2009 at Irving Park! Women from all over the area will be participating in this fun and exciting event!

This is a 3×3 basketball tournament for ALL women no matter what kind of baller you are: league champion, gym rat, college hoopster, short, tall, young, old – even if you haven’t played in years – dust off those sneakers and come support the Human Rights Campaign and women in basketball! Team spots are limited so get your team together and join us July 25th at Irving Park! Teams will host three to four players on each.

Kicking Hunger

Recesstime is proud to announce its partnership with Kicking Hunger, a festival to Benefit Oregon Food Bank!

On June 20th and 21st, Overlook Park in Portland will be the site of Kicking Hunger, a festival to benefit Oregon Food Bank! Come out to see 52 brave souls attempt to break the Guinness world record for longest kickball game!

The festival will feature live music, food vendors, beer, and a field set up for impromptu kickball games. There will also be
a kid-sized kickball field available for the future kickballers of the world!
Please come spend a part of your weekend with us supporting the Oregon Food Bank!

The festival is open to the public on Saturday June 20 and Sunday June 21 from 10:00
AM to 8:00 PM.

We will be collecting non-perishable food donations and monetary
donations at the event, so clear out your cabinets and bring your
non-perishable food items down the the park!

Be a part of history!
We are still looking for a few more player to round out our rosters! Player registration is $60, and we require each player to gather donations.

We also need volunteers, volunteer medical staff, and witnesses. For more information, please email Manny@longestkickball.com
During these tough economic times, the Oregon Food Bank needs your
support now more than ever. In addition to bringing non-perishable food items to the festival, you can also donate online! Go to

Draft League Dues Go Up in One Week!!!

Registration is still open for this summer’s fantasy draft league. Dues go up $10.00 next Monday so get registered. Rookies, don’t be afraid, you can bring a wingman/winglady by adding them as your “baggage” when you register. Draft league is super fun, all of the teams are equal. It’s a great way to meet people and play fast fun fueled dodgeball!

Recesstime Kickball’s first champions of 2009! Way to go!!!! After a tough defensive battle The Sandlot broke a 1-1 tie to beat Super Action Squad in the finals in extra innings. Final score, 2-1 Sandlot. See you guys tonight with your trophies!!!
