Dwayne’s World

In celebration of Dwayne’s World’s 2nd Anniversary, we’ve decided to select them for team of the week! Well, maybe not because it’s their anniversary, but coincidentally enough, this season marks their second year together. A play on Wayne’s World (if you didn’t recognize that they please, read no further and go back to wearing diapers), they came up with the idea during a “genius” drunken conversation at a bar. Their history goes a little something like this: Dwayne was plowed at the bar. Beth and Brandi told him he had to be on the team they were forming because they were going to name it after him. Not thinking they were serious, he said “Yeah, sure.” They scrounged a bunch of no-name rookies together (who have since become the ROCKSTARS known as Dwayne’s World!) and voila, Dwayne’s World was born.
It seems most aspects of this team revolve around the Wayne’s World theme. From their pregame cheer: “We start every game with a Dwayne’s World cheer and some air guitar. We continue with random shouts of PARTY TIME! throughout the game. We end every game with a SCHWING!”
They are captained by Brandi, who coincidentally, is described by the team as “babe-a-licious.” What motivates this team? “Getting to play with the most totally amazing and EXCELLENT teammates in the league.” And if you ask them if they have any rivals? “Nope, no rivals at all. Every team out there loves us! Cha right! When monkeys fly out my butt! We consider any team that gets in the way of our PARTYING ON OUR rivals.”
You have to love these guys. PARTY ON! They sure will be at the bar this week, courtesy of the League and you, the Selection Committee!
