High Trek Adventure is in the midst of a twenty-two-city national urban race series. Portland is next on August 8. Backspace Lounge located at 115 NW 5th Avenue will be the start and the finish of second annual race.
During each event, teams will be led through an exhilarating urban adventure race that High Trek Adventure promises to deliver. They will be asked to answer an eclectic group of questions – from pop culture to math equations (nothing to complex) – in order to be led to a checkpoint. The urban adventure participants will also be asked to complete exciting challenges along the way – from throwing a strike in bowling to listening and naming a song title or artist to matching a food item to its name. At each checkpoint, teams will take a picture of themselves. Teams must repeat the process of solving clues, finding checkpoints, and taking a picture at a total of 10 locations. Teams are only allowed to travel by foot or public transportation to each checkpoint.
The first team to return to the Backspace Lounge and successfully solve all the clues and challenges is declared the winner. The winning team will be $300 and free entry to the national championship race on November 14, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nev. The top 25 teams in each race will be eligible to compete in the inaugural High Trek Adventure national championship. The grand prize for this race will be $12,345.67.
