]]>Mother nature was not shining on spring kickball for the first time in league history we had a rainy, swampy and muddy kickball tournament out in SE Portland. With the two powerhouses, Negative Reinforcement and the Reignmakers heading to the finals, the rain cleared up and a new crisp grassy field was available for play in one of the most competitive Recesstime kickball tournaments in history.
With their strong pitching and fleet feet, the Reignmakers got up early on Negative and kept the lead through the 7th inning. Congratulations to the Reignmakers on their first championship!

]]>In what was the most exciting No Sting match to date, the no. 1 and no. 2 seeds faced off in the finals of the No Sting tournament. The games went 3-3 and Entourage dominated the neutral zone to finish off the favored Prestige Worldwide to notch their spot in the hall of fame! Congratulations, Entourage!
]]>Can you believe the end of season tournament is this Saturday?! My how this season has flown by! Tonight are the last regular season games before the tournament on Saturday. ALL teams make the end of season tournament! The bracket is available here. An updated version with teams on it will be completed tomorrow morning. As usual, after the tournament we have an end of season party (see attached flyer). If your are unable to play in the end of season tournament please ASAP.

Captains will need to pick up team packets at the tournament on Saturday for the wristbands to enter the party. All registered players receive a wristband to enter the party and enjoy free beer (Thank you to Coors Light, Sierra Nevada and Mike’s Hard Lemonade!), fiesta-like food, Dj and awards. Additional wristbands may be purchased for family and friends $10 each at the tournament or the door of the party.

]]>Teams, this is your day to shine! Win or go home…or just stick around and watch the rest of the tourney unfold! All the action kicks off at 6:30 Friday night, May 21st. Games pick up again bright and early Saturday morning, May 22nd at 8:00 AM. We’re at Lents and Bloomington parks, you can check out the bracket here to make all of your predictions of how things will roll out on Saturday. The final game is slated for 4:30 PM! If you aren’t a spring kickballer, come out and cheer on your friends and check out the action.
Recesstime is excited to announce our spring kickball tournament fundraiser for My Voice Music! Our goal is to raise $1000 for MVM by 9:30 PM, May 22nd when we start the End of Season Awards! Pledge your team’s support in the Team Fundraising Challenge by going to the Forums and pledge to donate at least $2.00 for each run. RSL will match the largest team donation up to $250.00! MVM will also have a 50/50 raffle (tickets are $5.00 and will be sold at the tourney and party raffle tickets are added to your team’s fundraising collection)! After all the fun and games at the field, we’ll be moving on to more hijinks at the Ponderosa Lounge. Doors are at 8:00 PM, all registered players will receive a bracelet - bracelets are required for entry - if you’d like to buy a bracelet for a special or not so special friend, they’re $10.00, we’ll be selling them at the tournament and at the door. Beer and savory snacks are on us while they last plus $1.00 Jello Shots, Jim Beam Black and Jim Beam Red Stag $4.00 plus 3 different shots for $4.00 each! We’ll have a DJ and KJ mix, so if you’re so inclined show off your talent at the party! Awards and raffle winners will be announced around 9:30 PM (if the tournament runs late, this will be pushed back).
Remember, we all like to have a great time but responsibly! There are plenty of cabs in Portland, or just spend the night at the hotel attached to the Ponderosa!
Teams have until Saturday to get their team registered. Sunday, team registration closes, dues go up $10.00, teams with fewer than 11 players will be merged with other smaller teams and individual registrants will be added to teams. Get on it, slackers.
